The new iPad act

The new iPad act

Likely to be the first magic act in the world featuring multiple ipads and certainly the first one to go viral. There was a point when if you put “ipad” into YouTube’s search field the video of this act was the first result.

This was an exciting project initiated by Stockholm based bureau Step2 Communications (now named ACS2), who hired Charlie to create an act using modern technology promoting the city of Stockholm at MIPIM — the largest real estate trade show there is. The end client was Stockholm Business Region.

Charlie brought in his good friend Erik Rosales and they, assisted by Ben Seidman, created an extremely successful business presentation for Stockholm.

This project led to the creation of d1gits.

It received a million YouTube hits in its first week and was up to more than 3 million — not bad for a business presentation in 2012. The original YouTube account was lost to a hacker attack, but the video is below.

The new iPad act also received several international awards:

  • The Digital Communication Award for Viral Marketing 2012
  • The European Excellence Award 2012 for International Communication
  • Nominated for Guldägget (the Swedish marketing awards)
  • Nominated for Gyllene Hjulet (the Swedish event business awards)
