Swedish TV channel Kanal 9 hired Charlie in 2010 to help create a promo for the channel where magic happened but it would be difficult to distinguish between magic trick and visual effect.
He started out with a storyboard the client had drawn up which had an idea with t-shirts and some theoretical magic ideas and worked from there.
After spending a few weeks on developing custom magic methods, props, special t-shirt techniques and a novel editing method for seamlessly editing shots from the same camera together, shooting took a long day. He asked brilliant magician Axel Adlercreutz to assist on the film day.
Charlie is very proud of the result which can be seen below, and the act also received the European Gold Promax Award 2010 for “Best promo not featuring programme footage”.
