Magical at the Edinburgh Fringe 2026
Another August in Edinburgh, and another run of Magical at the Liquid Rooms. A full run, 8 to 30 August, as part of PBH’s Free Fringe. This was my eighteenth year at the Fringe, and the rooms were fuller than ever.
Two things from this year I’m especially proud of.
The first came on air. Stuart Cameron, who reviews the Fringe for ITV and hosts the magic show on Fringe Radio, opened his round-up like this:
"Well, it's no secret that my favorite show for the last few years is the show at the Liquid Rooms from the Swedish magician Charlie Caper."
You can listen to the broadcast here.
The second came in writing. After the run he published a five-star review, which ends with a line I’ll be quoting for years:
![]()
"His appearances at the Edinburgh Fringe are so popular now that no visit to the Festival is complete without a Charlie Caper show."
The full review is here.
And then there’s the audience. Fifteen people took the time to write reviews on the Fringe website, every one of them glowing. One of them, Ian Rowland, called it “quite possibly the greatest, most enjoyable magic show you will ever see”. That’s the one that stays with you on the walk home.
Thank you, Edinburgh. See you next August.
