Standing ovation at the Austrian Magic Convention
Straight from Edinburgh to the Austrian Alps. This weekend I performed at the Fröhlich Zauberkongress in Bad Aussee, the Austrian magic convention, which gathers several hundred magicians from around the world in a small spa town in the Salzkammergut.
I brought my robot show, Robotricks. It’s the most technically demanding show I do, with all my robots on stage at once, and playing it to a room full of magicians is a special kind of nerve-wracking. They know how everything works. Or think they do.
They gave it a standing ovation.
I also gave a seminar the next day about how I think about building shows, which turned into one of those conversations you don’t want to end.
Thank you to the Fröhlich Zauberkongress for the invitation, and to the audience for a reception I won’t forget. Also, Austria: the lakes are ridiculous.
